The filing also says that Bashara tried to contact his ex-girlfriend, Rachel Gillett, in violation of a court order.

"Despite the entry of a PPO and the fact that (Bashara) was in jail, (Bashara) made several attempts to make Gillette (sic)."

Here is a link to the WDIV news story. Some of the comments seem to have missed the point. ...Jane's family is standing up for the kids! They want some memories of their life with their mother! Anyone cold enough to tell those kids to just "move on" needs to seriously take a look at themselves! Why shouldn't they have a few ornaments, photos or whatever else they would like? What kind of family (or father) would deny them that? ...

" Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy alleged in June that Bashara paid at least one person, not a law enforcement officer, an undisclosed sum of money to kill Joseph Gentz behind bars, so he wouldn't have the opportunity to testify at a July 23 competency hearing.

Worthy alleges Bashara met at least one other person for the same reason. The meetings took place between June 8 and June 25. The plan never came to fruition."
